The Rap Artist we know as J. Cole should be in NYC today headlining up the final day of the Governors Ball with other featured artists such as Playboi Carti and Jazmine Sullivan set to perform. This all comes after announcing that he had to leave the Canadian Elite Basketball leagues' Scarborough Shooting Stars to fulfill his musical commitments.

After 4 games with the Shooting Stars, Cole has left the second stint of his professional career due to his music and life outside the world of basketball. Previously playing for the Rwanda Patriots of the Basketball Africa League, Cole was in an underwhelming 3 game start until a family obligation took him elsewhere. This opportunity in the CEBL with the Shooting Stars of Scarborough, provided him with the most games played and more even more success. Playing with his new team brought along a new career high, Rapper Drake supporting from courtside, plenty of fans in the stand showing a tremendous amount of support. “It’s been phenomenal,” Cole mentioned after his career night. Continuing to praise the team, coaching staff, and everyone involved, about just how amazing it is for his to have this opportunity points.

While the talented multi-platinum artist may not be on another professional roster for the time being, he was able to live out his professional dreams again. Numbers aside, the opportunity to go out on a better note than his previous start in Africa is what was needed. Cole still has plenty of supporters both on and off the court willing to see him grace the court again. As long as he stays active in his best industry, we will continue to see this precedence where Cole is beckoned back to his most loyal fanbase. The music and tours respectively.
