On Feb 10 in Seoul, HYBE acquired shares in the company worth 422.8 billion won ($334.3 million becoming the company’s largest shareholder. HYBE was officially confirmed to be acquiring a 14.8 percent stake of SM Entertainment from Lee Soo Man for 422.8 billion won.

Quality Control Music, the Atlanta rap label that is one of the hottest hit machines in contemporary music, has been acquired by Hybe America, a company led by the executive and talent manager Scooter Braun. Pierre Thomas and Kevin Lee, the founders of QCin 2013, in 2013, still work for the company under Braun's direction. This move adds artists Migos, Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, and City Girls to some of the biggest names overseas in BTS, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, NCT 127, Super M and Aespa.
